WORKSHOPS
We are currently revamping our programming. 2017 Workshops and programs will be announced in the Fall.
These weekend experiences are a great way to get out of the city into the beautiful Catskills, to take time learning about things that matter, meet new people who share your values, and develop skills you can apply in your daily life.

IN GENERAL
Site. Stay in the heart of the Catskills at Camp Shomria, which has hosted Eco Practicum since its inception. The facility includes an organic farm and 80 acres of pristine forest and serves as a hub for a variety of groundbreaking programs. The camp gets all of its water from an on-site well and is equipped with sufficient solar panels so that 98% of the energy used on site comes from the sun.
Lodging. Accommodation options include camping on site (free) or a stay in one of the lovely rustic cabins ($30 / night). The cabins include beds, shelves, and electric outlets. They are located adjacent to the shared bathrooms and shower facilities. (Please note that bedding and towels are not included.) Food. All meals are included in the cost of the program, and are prepared by renowned cook and expert butcher, Brent Lyman. He studied organic farming in France and Zen in Japan. In 2012, he helped organize the kitchen at the Occupy Sandy Hub, providing aid to thousands of New Yorkers whose lives were disrupted by Hurricane Sandy. Transportation. Click here for a map to our site and information about public transit options. Pick up from New York City may be available for select workshops - contact us for details. |
